Setting up the Cardiac Science Powerheart G5 (semi-automated or fully automatic) is very easy.

In the box, there will be a user manual, CD which contains an electronic version of the user manual and a program to interpret data downloaded from the AED after a rescue, and a "Getting Started" card.

One of the AED pads should be connected to the AED already. The battery of the AED is separate from the device. Insert the battery into the back of the AED device (the leads of the battery should match with the leads of the device. There should be a click to indicate that the battery is inserted properly. The Rescue Ready green indicator will activate, and the AED is ready to go.
